Draw your home.
Then walk it.
Arti is a floor plan editor for macOS. Sketch rooms in 2D, cut in doors and windows, furnish it, then switch to 3D and walk the result at eye level. No sign-up, no cloud, no subscription.
Arti is not made for a phone yet
Open this on a desktop and you can use the whole editor in your browser — nothing to install, no account. The Mac app is free on the App Store.

The app itself
Every screen, nothing staged
These are unretouched captures of the app running, not mockups.
Why Arti is different
Every other floor planner is a browser tab that wants your email address.
Arti is a real Mac app. It opens instantly, runs with the Wi-Fi off, and never asks who you are. Your plans live in a single file on your own disk — not on someone's server, under someone's terms, subject to whatever their pricing looks like in two years.
- No account. Not a delayed one — there is no sign-up in the app at all.
- Fully offline. Nothing to sync, nothing to wait for, nothing to lose when the connection drops.
- Your plans are yours. One SQLite file in the app's sandbox. We hold no copy and cannot.
- No ads, no trackers, no analytics. The only thing we ever receive is an anonymous crash report.
What it does
Everything you need to plan a home. Nothing you need a course to learn.
Rooms, drawn by dragging
Click and drag on the grid. Walls take real thickness, dimensions read out in metres as you go, and every edge stays draggable afterwards.
- Rectangular rooms and free-form polygons
- Type an exact wall length and the wall moves to match
- Rooms snap to each other so shared walls actually meet
- Alignment guides while you drag
Openings that cut the wall for real
A door is not a symbol painted on a line. Drop one on a wall and it removes that stretch of wall in the plan and in the 3D model, with a header above it and a sill under a window.
- More than twenty joinery styles in several timber and paint finishes
- Doors, windows, French windows and open passages
- Swing direction drawn correctly — press R to reverse it
- A door on a shared wall appears from both rooms and stays in step
244 pieces, at their real dimensions
Beds, sofas, kitchens, bathrooms, desks, storage, radiators, lighting and garden furniture — each carrying the dimensions of the real object, so a sofa that does not fit on the plan will not fit in the room.
- Resize, rotate and tint any piece
- Wall-mounted items stay attached to their wall
- Nothing passes through a partition
- Every asset is CC0 or made for this app — your exports are unencumbered
The same plan, standing up
One control switches between the plan and the model — it is the same data, not an export. Orbit it from outside, hide every wall to read the layout at a glance, or drop into walk mode and move through the rooms at eye height.
- Orbit, pan and zoom the whole model
- Hide every wall in one click for a dollhouse view
- Walk mode at eye level — WASD or the arrows, on any keyboard layout
- 35 materials on floors and walls, with a per-room tint
An export you can actually send to a builder
Most floor planners hand you a screenshot. Arti draws a proper sheet: every wall dimensioned, ceiling heights, room names, areas, the scale, and a title block — at print resolution.
- Wall lengths written on the plan, toggleable, plus ceiling height per room
- Distances from each piece to the nearest wall — the numbers a fitter asks for
- Names, areas and scale, on or off
- Screen, Print and Large — up to 350 dpi, sized before you export
- 3D stills at 1×, 2× or 3×, framed as you set them, grid and selection removed
- An orbit video — one full turn around the plan, 12 seconds by default
Multiple floors, and six languages
A house is rarely one level. Build the storeys it actually has, up to 3 in a plan, duplicate one to start the next from the same footprint, and reorder them — the names follow.
- Create, duplicate, reorder and rename up to 3 storeys
- Each floor keeps its own furniture and materials
- English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese — follows your system language

Is Arti the right one for you?
Probably the most useful thing on this page. Most of it is a yes, and the rest is an honest no: if what you need has something in the right-hand column, Arti does not do it, and we would rather say so now than have you find out after downloading.

Arti runs on your Mac
There is a browser version, and it needs a screen about 900 px across — the same size the Mac app asks for as a window. On a phone the Mac app is the way in. It is free, it works offline, and it asks for no account.
